Signature Study Series #3 - Keira Knightly
Keira Knightley was pretty much thrust into fame here in the US as a look-alike for Natalie Portman. Cast as the Queen's decoy in Star Wars Episode 1, after making some tv appearances in the UK, she was bound for bigger and better things. I believe she is actually a much better actress than Natalie and I don't care what the Academy says. Opinions aside one fact remains...she certainly handles her fame and autograph requests, far better than her doppelganger.
Keira at the beginning of her career signed beautiful autographs with nearly every letter, within a year that changed to K Knightley, within a year or 2 she shortened that down to KK, and that lasted for a couple of years. Then the single K lasted for about a year, until the dreaded checkmark arrived.
The following images show the way a nice celeb's autograph can devolve over the course of about 10 years.
Just a quick side note, I always try to use pieces that I own when putting samples in a study. The last few Keira’s in this study belong to friends, I haven’t gone for her since she started scribbling off check marks. As always if you have questions, just let me know in the comments.
