SWAU Legends and Lore (Fried Chicken, Frunk Oz, and Harrison Fard)
Being new to the Star Wars Autograph Universe can be a bit daunting because the group has been around since 2016, and over time has created its own inside jokes. So to help you out, here’s an explanation of some of the most popular jokes.
Legend of the Fried Chicken
People often wonder why does Darth Vader in the SWAU logo hold a piece of fried chicken, and the origin story is almost as old as the group. As Andy, the founder of SWAU would post his photo ops with celebrities and recently signed items, people would ask him “Where did you get that signed? Where can I meet them??” Eventually, it got to the point where Andy was receiving almost 100 messages each time he posted. Naturally, he got tired of being asked about it, so he started responded with “At their favorite fried chicken joint.” and thus Vader with fried chicken was born.
It’s Frunk, Not Frank
The One time Andy decided to do a joke on the group, and posted that he would do a raffle for a Frunk Oz Autograph, and posted a fake Frank Oz Autograph from a former member that was trying to sell it on eBay. His name was Maz Adams. In short time, he had over 200+ entries and people never took the time to carefully read the giveaway to see that he posted that it was a Frunk Oz autograph instead of a Frank Oz one. It also showed how many people didn’t know how a Frank Oz Autograph looked like.
The Name is Fard, Harrison Fard
The name of Harrison Fard came about as one time Steve Grad cosplayed as Han Solo at a previous Star Wars Celebration Convention, and that character was dubbed ‘Harrison Fard’.
